The Perfect Skincare Routine You Should Know

Perfect Skincare Routine By Olamor Mi Manchi

Whether you have a three-step or nine-step skincare routine, everyone may improve their skin by applying items in the correct order. To seal in moisture and, of course, SPF throughout the day, start with a clean, toned base and add on concentrated, active products. The following are the steps to a good skincare routine:

Wash your Face:

                                      Wash Your Face

Every morning and night, rinse your face with water, then rub a small amount of gentle cleanser between your clean palms. Face wash should be gently rubbed over the entire surface of your face. Remove the cleanser and debris from your face by rinsing your hands and massaging your face with water. Gently pat your face dry with a gentle towel. You may need to cleanse twice if you use makeup at night. Cleanse your face with micellar water or cleansing oil first. Keep dedicated eye-makeup removers on for a few minutes to make makeup removal easier and avoid touching your eyes. After that, cleanse your entire face with a gentle cleanser.

Apply Toner:

             Apply Toner

If you’re going to use toner, apply it after cleansing your face and before doing anything else. Apply a few drops of toner to your face with your palms or a cotton pad. If your toner is exfoliating, meaning it removes dead skin cells with ingredients like glycolic acid, use it exclusively at night. It is suggested that you use hydrating formulations twice a day. It’s not a good idea to use an exfoliating toner with retinoids or other exfoliants at the same time.

Apply Serum:

Apply Serum

Antioxidant serums, like as a brightening vitamin C serum, are especially effective in the morning since they protect your skin from the free radicals that you’ll come into contact with during the day. To keep your skin from drying out at night, use a hyaluronic acid-based moisturising serum, especially if you’re using anti-aging or acne treatments that might irritate and dry your skin. Serums contain exfoliants such as alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA) and lactic acid. Always keep the following in mind, regardless of what you’re doing: Water-based serums should be applied first, followed by an oil-based moisturiser.

Apply Eye Cream:

Apply Eye Cream

You can apply any moisturiser on your under-eye area, but if you want to use an eye cream, layer it over your moisturiser because eye creams are typically thinner than face moisturisers. Use an eye cream with a metal roller-ball applicator and put it in the freezer to reduce puffiness in the morning. When you use a hydrating eye cream at night, it may cause fluid retention, resulting in puffy eyes in the morning.

Use Spot Treatment:

Use Spot treatment

It’s a good idea to use acne spot treatments at night while your body is in healing mode. Acne-fighting chemicals like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acids may irritate the skin when used in combination with retinol. Instead, do everything you can to keep your skin hydrated and soothed.

Moisturise:

Moisturise

Moisturizer hydrates the skin while also locking in the benefits of the other products you’ve used. Look for a mild lotion with an SPF of 30 or higher in the morning. In the evening, you might use a thicker night cream. Those with dry skin should use a cream twice a day, in the morning and at night.

Apply Retinoid:

Apply Retinoid

Retinoids (vitamin A derivatives like retinol) can reduce dark spots, breakouts, and small wrinkles by speeding up skin-cell turnover, but they can also irritate sensitive skin. Remember that retinoids deteriorate in the sun, so only use them at night. They also make your skin more sun-sensitive, necessitating the application of sunscreen.

Apply Face Oil:

Apply Face Oil

Apply a facial oil after you’ve applied all of your other skin-care products because nothing else will penetrate the oil. Retinoids (vitamin A derivatives like retinol) can reduce dark spots, breakouts, and small wrinkles by speeding up skin-cell turnover, but they can also irritate sensitive skin. Remember that retinoids deteriorate in the sun, so only use them at night. They also make your skin more sun-sensitive, necessitating the application of sunscreen

Apply Sunscreen:

Apply Sunscreen

Despite the fact that it is the last step, almost every dermatologist will tell you that sun protection is the most important part of any skin-care regimen. By shielding your skin from UV light, you can avoid skin cancer and signs of ageing. You should use sunscreen even if your moisturiser doesn’t include SPF. Wait 20 minutes before stepping outside to ensure that chemical sunscreens are effective. Look for a sunscreen that has a broad-spectrum SPF of at least 30, which means it will protect you from both UVA and UVB radiation.
